Texas: Staying at the top in 2023

This year was supposed to be about recovery for both the broader economy and the construction industry. In some ways, it was. By March 2022,the construction industry had recovered all the jobs lost during the first two months of the pandemic.

By August, the entire economy reached full employment recovery, the result of the fastest two years of job creation in U.S. history. As we head into 2023, consumers continue to spend at a scorching pace, though a growing share of that spending is driven by expanding credit card balances.
